BBC Worldwide signs children’s licensing deal for Amazon Prime Video

 UK & Ireland agreement includes CBeebies hits Hey Duggee, Go Jetters, and Sarah & Duck.

BBC Worldwide has announced a multi-year licensing deal with SVOD service Amazon Prime Video, giving its subscribers in the UK and Ireland access to a raft of children’s TV series from CBeebies and CBBC. The deal marks BBC Worldwide’s first children’s package on Amazon Prime Video in the territory.

Content covered by the non-exclusive agreement includes CBeebies series Hey Duggee, Go Jetters, Sarah & Duck, Charlie & Lola, and Gigglebiz, as well as CBBC shows like The Story Of Tracy Beaker and Horrible Histories.

Jonathan Newman, sales & business development director at BBC Worldwide, commented: “The deal reflects the growing investment that leading streaming services like Amazon Prime Video is making to offer world-class, high quality children’s programming to its subscribers.”

Over 520 episodes of CBeebies and CBBC content will become available on Amazon Prime Video, with series start dates staggered over the year. Series 1 of the International Emmy award-winning Hey Duggee, Sarah & Duck Series 1, The Story Of Tracy Beaker Series 1 and the multi award-winning Horrible Histories Series 2-4 are now available.

Further CBeebies favourites such as Series 1 of CBeebies’ Go Jetters, Series 1 of of Charlie & Lola, Gigglebiz, starring BAFTA award-winning children’s entertainer Justin Fletcher, Katie Morag Series 1, plus the 2015 remake of the much loved cult children’s TV show Clangers and Swashbuckle Series 1 will all become available to watch later in the year, as will CBBC’s popular The Next Step Series 1-3 and The Dumping Ground Series 1-3.
