Colour change technology to be launched

Initial focus on partnerships including licensing and toys.

SolarActiveEDSolarActive Europe, a new division of the long-standing US SolarActive International technology company, has announced that it will launch the most stabilised and refined UV colour change technology in the UK and Europe throughout 2017.

SolarActive International has worked on the UV chemical process for more than twenty-five years to produce non-toxic UV colour change technology that can be used across multiple colour-ways and products including textiles, thread, plastics and print.

With more than 28 colour changing ink colours that can be used to transpose into new colours through the UV process, SolarActive Europe is bringing to market a new concept in colour change that reacts to every-day UV light and immediately begins to revert into its original form once out of direct sunlight/UV. The technology also does not weaken with consistent use.

The company is looking to launch across a handful of key sectors, working closely with brand owners and licensing companies in dress-up and apparel, fashion accessories, as well as children’s toy areas including art & crafts plus plush. Throughout April and May the SolarActive Europe team will demonstrate the technology and how it can be incorporated into both existing and new product ranges, all in time for autumn-winter 17.

Barbara Rooney of SolarActive Europe commented: “We are delighted to be bringing the most ever stable UV colour change technology to Europe. Our intention is to bring credibility and engagement to the European market across multiple product categories that will benefit brands and give merchandise a fresh creative edge.”
