Brand Manager (Maternity Cover)

The role

Creation and execution of brand and marketing plans for key DHX Brands’ property, Teletubbies in the UK and internationally. The role works with many business units within DHX Media, including licensing, TV distribution, production and digital as well as licensees, broadcasters, international agents and other external agencies to gain optimal exposure for the brands and to drive brand revenues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver annual marketing plans working closely with internal stakeholders such as licensing and consumer PR teams as well as partners, agents and licensees where necessary

• Create and communicate brand updates/plans/pitch presentations to internal teams (Licensing, TV, Production, Interactive) and external partners such as agents, licensees and retailers and ensure a regular flow of communication

• Execute brand plans working closely with internal stakeholders such as creative, licensing and PR teams as well as partners, agencies, international agents and licensees where necessary

• Evaluate internal and external marketing initiatives and provide campaign analysis

• Briefing and creation of brand marketing materials including sizzles, POS, consumer & trade advertising and digital assets

• Work with licensees and partners to maximize cross promotional opportunities

• Provide marketing & retail activation support such as coordinating events, producing marketing collateral, brand premiums and liaising with licensees

• Work in collaboration with agents and other territory managers to share best practice

• Key role in executing digital strategy across brands managing brand websites’ content and CMS

• Work closely with social media team to execute online and social media initiatives

• Work closely with international broadcasters to drive tune-in and maximize promotional opportunities

• Coordinate character costume appearances with brand partners

• Have a thorough knowledge of key trends, brands and competitors’ performance in all relevant markets including (and not limited to) the UK, Germany, China, Benelux, Spain, Italy and the Middle East

• Create brand guidelines and ensure they are communicated to all brand partners and stakeholders

• Be brand expert and custodian

• Approval of all partner and licensee marketing materials ensuring that all executions are ‘best in class’

• Support with trade shows and trade marketing

• Support Senior Manager and VP with projects and ad hoc requests

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

• 4+ years in a brand or marketing role

• CIM Qualification or degree or commensurate experience

• Experience and knowledge of licensing kids brands and IP in the UK and internationally

• Knowledge of the retail landscape– traditional and ecommerce

• Experience and knowledge of working in the digital space

• Demonstrable experience to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and activities and work under pressure

• Self- starter and problem solver

• Proven experience of agency management skills and creative accountability

• Ability to gain and interpret feedback from the sales force and develop and share commercial insights in order to create marketing and communications activity to support and grow brands

• Creative judgment, strong written skills and excellent attention to detail

• Commercial awareness

• Experience of budget planning and tracking costs effectively

• Excellent communicator and relationship builder, natural diplomat

• Excellent PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop skills.

• Genuine passion for children’s brands

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Preferred experience of having undertaken a similar role within children’s, media or television business

• Experience of working within a consumer marketing environment

• Experience of working in an international or global role
