Following a launch in the UK in July, the Bush Baby World toy collection is being rolled out to the international markets.
It will be on sale in Australia, Japan, and parts of Europe from August. In Japan, Bandai will be launching the range as Gyoroppy after having a successful showcase at the Tokyo Toy Fair in June, where the Bush Babies’ wiggling eyes and waggling ears attracted major attention.
Within two weeks of coming to market in the UK, the line has generated phenomenal interest, with sales rocketing and digital engagement at impressive levels. The initial animated webisodes and commercials created for the launch were viewed online over a million times in their first six weeks, and Golden Bear has already taken steps to increase its factory base to meet capacity.
Barry Hughes, managing director at Golden Bear, commented: “This has been one of the most amazing launches in our history and we believe it has all the right ingredients to make it a global success. As a company we are thrilled to be involved in all aspects including the production of animated webisodes and we have been working closely with the licensing agents Brands with Influence to launch the brand and build a cohesive licensing programme. We’re looking forward to seeing the Bush Baby World go from strength to strength in autumn/winter 2017 and beyond.”
In 2018, the range is expected to launch in all other major international territories including the US.
