Biplano manages merchandising and promotional rights for the property in Spain and Portugal in a deal that extends its licensing portfolio in Southern Europe. Matt Hatter is tipped to be the next big global boy’s brand and Biplano is developing a comprehensive licensing and promotional programme across multiple categories for a dual-territory product roll-out in September 2014.
Besides Platinum’s global deals with the Simba Dickie Group as Master Toy (EMEA, India and Russia) and Topps, Biplano has announced new deals with Dravemad (footwear), Hot Shots and Tasty and Unique (food and beverage) and Claudio Reig (children’s musical instruments). Back to school, publishing, puzzles, gift, home and other categories will be announced in the coming weeks.

Seasons one and two of the adventure-comedy series debuted on Spanish public broadcaster RTVE’s, Clan TV in November 2013 with very positive initial audience ratings. Last month the show ranked number two for action series in terms of average audience on the channel, whilst it has also been very successful on Canal Panda, Spain since premiering in April 2013. Last August, Matt Hatter took the number one spot for animated series for boys and girls of all ages in Portugal on Canal Panda and both Canal Panda Spain and Portugal have been quick to snap up the brand new third season to premiere later this year.
