Published on: 22nd October 2020

The celebrity will take part in the star-studded global search for the next fan-inspired die-cast car.

The 1957 Nash Metropolitan, designed and built by Greg Salzillo and Dave Ford, was the 2019 winner of the Hot Wheels Legends Tour.

For the first time, fans across the UK are getting the chance to virtually join the the Hot Wheels Legends Tour. The global search to immortalise the next Hot Wheels die-cast vehicle will go live on the 24th October in a virtual event with celebrity guest appearances including TV Host Paddy McGuinness, Ben Collins (formerly The Stig), car personality Magnus Walker, vlogger Becky Evans (Queen B), Motorsports personality Jarod DeAnda, and Car Throttle Host Alex Kersten, which will also be streamed on the Hot Wheels and Car Throttle Facebook page.

Today is the last day on which fans can submit photos and videos of their custom builds for the chance to have their design included in the Legends Tour virtual stop and live stream. After the submission window closes, the Legends Tour judges will select the top vehicles to be featured during the stream and will be judged live. Similar to all Legends Tour stops, the judges will consider creativity, authenticity and garage spirit when selecting finalists and winners. A variety of vehicles, representing the breadth of the Hot Wheels in all aspects of car culture, will be included.

Paddy McGuinness says: "I remember having a red Pontiac Firebird Hot Wheels car. I used to spend hours racing all over the house with it, and now I’ve handed it down to my son and we play with it together. If you’ve got a custom or modified car, and fancy seeing your car made into a Hot Wheels toy, then this is the competition for you.”

Hot Wheels Legends Tour 2019 saw more than 110,000+ participants and over 5,000 entries. Now in its third year, the tour has gone virtual. At each stop, fans will have the opportunity to show off their unique custom builds from open-wheeled jet-inspired rides like the 2018 tour winning 2JetZ, to classic coupes like The Nash, which won in 2019. Hot Wheels designers and automotive influencers will select one finalist from each stop based on the criteria of authenticity, creativity and garage spirit. At the end of the tour, all 13 finalists across the world will compete at a live event in Las Vegas, where they will be judged side-by-side to determine the grand prize winner that will become the next Hot Wheels die-cast vehicle.
