Enchanted Wood will continue to trade online and hopes to open its doors in a new premises once the current climate improves.
Last month, Enchanted Wood toyshop, based in Farnham, Surrey, announced it would be closing its shop doors after 16 years, and will trade solely online for the time being. The shop’s closing down sale began on 4th November with a call and collect service, and ended over the weekend.
Posting on the company’s Facebook page, owner, Janie Colman and the team wrote: “After over 16 years of being part of this wonderful town (10 years in our current location) we will be closing our doors permanently. This year has been very eventful, to say the least, and we have decided it’s time to step back, take a break and wait for this storm to pass.
We are hoping to open up again in future and will be actively looking for new premises once the current climate improves. We are very grateful to all of our customers that have supported us over the years and super proud of the team which has always gone above and beyond to make your shopping experience as enjoyable as possible. Thank you for your support.”
Loyal customers were quick to respond with postive messages of support to their local toy shop, with one customer commenting: “Such sad news but we hope you come back stronger than ever. Thanks for all the many lovely happy memories of treat trips and last minute party gift dashes – nowhere else suggests, wraps or balloons like Enchanted Wood. See you again we hope.”
Another added: “We’ve shopped with you many times over the past 10 years and you’ve always been the go to place for presents and balloons in Farnham.”
Though its physical doors might be closing for a while, shoppers can still get their Enchanted Wood fix over on its new mobile-friendly website, which includes an additional PayPal option. Offers are already up and running. Visit www.enchanted-wood.co.uk to find out more.
