Spielwarenmesse announces new Showtime area

Published on: 30th October 2018

The Spielwarenmesse is one of the most important meetings of the year for the festive product, carnival and fireworks industry.

All notable suppliers and market leaders from this sector come to Nuremberg to present their innovations to the international trade buyers. Coinciding with the 70th anniversary edition of the world’s leading toy fair from 30th January to 3rd February 2019, the product group Festive Articles, Carnival and Fireworks in Hall 9 will host a completely new feature. Expanding into part of Hall 8, it will showcase a dynamic activity and promotion area.

The toy retail trade is a key market for suppliers of festive articles, carnival products and fireworks. That is why the Spielwarenmesse has long since ranked as one of the most important business platforms for this sector, attracting all the global players. In light of the growing international character of this segment and in response to demand from exhibitors for a larger area, this vibrant category has been extended into part of Hall 8. Ernst Kick, CEO of the Spielwarenmesse, commented: “This step enables us to better reflect the diversity of this product group for buyers and retailers and to provide manufacturers with an even more effective marketing platform.”

A major highlight in Hall 8 is the new, 200m² promotion area, dubbed Showtime. An entertaining programme of events will take place here every day. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their latest costumes and trends on the catwalk three times a day. Other innovations from the product group can be shown in their best light during demonstrations. Likewise situated in this area, three decorative islands give exhibitors the opportunity to display their products in a second location. Spotlighting everything from festive articles for different occasions to party lighting and table fireworks, they give buyers and retailers valuable inspiration for designing their own product ranges. The varied programme is rounded off by a photo promotion. Using a special photo mirror, trade buyers can take home with them their very own photographic memento of the anniversary edition of the Spielwarenmesse.

Exhibitors can find further information on the activity area and on participating in the programme at www.spielwarenmesse.de/en/showtime-application. The closing date for registrations is 15th December 2018.
