Published on: 22nd August 2018

The international trade fair will take place in Mumbai from 4th to 6th September.

Toys will be the focus of attention at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai from 4th to 6th September, when Kids India, the country’s largest international B2B fair for toys, children’s products and sport goods opens its doors for the sixth time. The industry platform brings together exhibitors, ranging from well-known brands to new start-ups, with buyers from major chains as well as independent retailers from all over India and abroad.

Around 160 exhibitors will represent 350 brands and attract over 6,000 visitors. The event is organised by Spielwarenmesse India Pvt. Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spielwarenmesse eG. Kids India is also supported by The All India Toy Manufacturers Association (TAITMA) and the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC).

The World of Toys Pavilion incudes exhibitors from Germany, Malaysia, Mexico and China. “It is the variety which makes Kids India unique, “emphasises Katharina Janotta, managing director of Spielwarenmesse India. “In order to continue the success story of Kids India, we are constantly upgrading the event by inventing new features, which add to the unique character of the fair and make it a ‘must-attend’ for all industry partners.”

The Sports Arena will make its debut this year and will focus on testing and experiencing new products on the spot. A further special area, Trending Now, will highlight products that reflect two trends: Tech Toys and Express Yourself. Tech Toys includes robots and RC drones, electronic pets, 3D printing, virtual play and incorporate virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. Express Yourself highlights how parents are investing in activities that improve and foster their children’s creative side and nurture their imagination.

The Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC), under the aegis of the Indian Government, is offering a travel reimbursement programme to international buyers. Kids India also provides a comprehensive Seminar Programme with informative presentations and panel discussions on important industry topics such as toy safety, latest industry trends and more. The programme, which is complimentary for all attendees, runs on all three days of the fair.
