Aardman secures new licensing partners for Shaun the Sheep

Aardman has announced new deals for global brand Shaun the Sheep across a host of core categories ahead of BLE.Shaun-Celebration300

The team has widened its existing toy distribution network with the addition of Prima Toy distribution for South Africa, Tele Toy Shop for Benelux, Imagine Consumer Products Network in France and Play by Play in Spain.

In the UK, Divine Chocolate has partnered with Aardman for a special collaboration for Easter 2015. Together they have developed the Shaun the Sheep Easter Egg, a Fairtrade milk chocolate complete with a pair of Shaun the Sheep ears, in celebration of Shaun the Sheep The Movie which launches in February. The 55g egg with novelty plush Shaun the Sheep ears will be available in major retail outlets across the UK, and is the first Aardman egg to hit the shelves.

Next Spring, Shaun will be seen in a range of new outerwear from Fashions UK, to be released for Spring/Summer 2015. Titan Comics is on board for a one-shot Shaun the Sheep movie magazine, featuring a mixture of puzzles, features, posters and a comic strip, which will be available to UK and Commonwealth fans.

The programme also continues to take shape with a brand new Shaun the Sheep Nintendo DS game will come to market in a number of territories across Europe, The Middle East, Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

2015 is Chinese “Year of the Sheep” which will see Shaun-themed celebrations and promotions across Asia. This will coincide with the worldwide theatrical release of Shaun the Sheep The Movie, which will be supported with a number of regional and global promotions. Further planned activity for 2015 includes “Shaun in the City” which will showcase 120 giant sculptures of Shaun the Sheep decorated by celebrities and artists in a public arts trail in London and Bristol raising money for charity, and a joint merchandise campaign with Rugby World Cup which will be hosted in England in September.
