The new mould Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II Starter Set, along with the associated Gift Set versions, feature the fifth generation fighter.
The Lockheed Martin F-35B is the most advanced multi-combat aircraft in the world, using stealth technologies to operate undetected in hostile airspace or relaying vital battlefield information to other friendly forces. This new mould Starter Set enters an ever growing range, offering exceptional detail and all designed with the beginner in mind.
A new addition to the Airfix range, the Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II Starter Set can be finished in two different configurations. Using the shadow stand, the model can be finished in clean forward flight mode, or in distinctive hovering configuration with doors open and undercarriage deployed, either on the stand, or just in ground display mode. Although the new kit may be designed with simplified construction and less parts, it still includes a host of options to allow two very different configurations of the aircraft to be modelled.
Ranked at skill level 1, this Starter Set offers 42 parts and 1 build scheme. With an overall length measures 218mm and a wingspan of 152mm, the kit also includes all the necessary acrylic paints, poly cement and brushes to complete the kit, along with the included shadow stand to display the finished build.
A Then and Now Gift Set has been released to combine two iconic aircraft into one set. This Gift Set includes both the newly moulded Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II and the earlier release of the new moulded Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc, released back in 2020, all designed with the beginner in mind. Ranked at skill level 1, this Gift Set includes all the necessary acrylic paints, poly cement and brushes, along with shadows stands for each aircraft. The Supermarine Spitfire contains 26 parts, with an overall length of 131mm and a wingspan of 157mm, whilst the F-35B Lightning II contains 42 parts, measuring 218mm in length and a wingspan of 152mm. The Then and Now Gift Set highlights the advancement within the technology and innovation of today’s fighter aircraft.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of ‘Operation Chastise’, also known as the Dambusters raids. Ranked at skill level 3, the 617 Sqn. Dambusters 80th Anniversary Gift Set offers exceptional detail, including two kits, each with their own stand. The Avro Lancaster B.III (Special) offers 267 parts and an overall length measuring 302mm and wingspan of 432mm, it also features the iconic payload of the Upkeep mine, commonly known as the ‘bouncing bomb’ on the underside. The newly moulded F-35B Lightning II partnering within this kit, contains 42 parts, measuring 218mm in length and a wingspan of 152mm. With an array of inflight and on the ground build options; this kit also allows for display on its very own included shadow stand. This Gift Set includes all necessary acrylic paint, poly cement and brushes to complete the kit.
