Owner of Dudley’s Arcade Toy Shop retires.

Alan-Caswell-wordpressLegendary independent toy retailer Alan Caswell has retired after a long and illustrious career in the toy trade. He first started working at the Arcade Toy Shop in Dudley – ‘Toys am we’ as it became known – when he was a boy of 13, and over the years he built a reputation as a man with a passion for toys and an eye for a good line. He was also famous for his penchant for pork scratchings, which became his calling card at toy fairs around the world.

Alan was hugely well respected within his local community as well as the wider toy trade, and the shop was packed out with well –wishers and customers on Alan’s final day in the shop on Saturday.

Our picture shows Alan with his daughters and grandchildren on the steps of the store, along with his sister Lynne and her husband Steve, who have also helped with the running of the store in recent years.

Alan leaves the shop in the hands of new owners.
