Amazon investment to create 1,500 jobs

The online retailer is opening a new distribution centre in Tilbury.

Amazon-480The news follows a previous announcement that it will create 500 jobs when it opens a fulfilment centre in Doncaster next year.

The new employment opportunities in Tilbury and Doncaster is adding to the 3,500 jobs Amazon has announced it expects to create in Britain this year. Jobs will span across head office, research and development centres, customer service centres, a fashion photography studio, Amazon web services and distribution centres.

The jobs will raise Amazon’s total full-time permanent employees to over 15,500 by the end of this year.
