“Are you a toy maker?” asks Bureau Veritas

Published on: 17th January 2012

Toy testing and supply chain auditing specialist, Bureau Veritas, will be offering mini consultations to toy companies at London Toy Fair.

Malcolm Horner and Claire Franco from BV will be available for 20-minute face-to-face appointments to help explain the distinction between manufacturers, brands, importers and distributors.

Malcolm, toy technical consultant at BV, explains: “Under the current legislation, companies that have toys designed and manufactured under their name or trademark are considered as being a ‘manufacturer’ and are therefore responsible for developing and retaining the product technical file. So for instance, retailers who sell toys under their own-label would be considered as manufacturers”
