Home Retail has revealed a new leadership structure for Argos following the promotion of its former managing director John Walden to group chief executive.
Argos commercial director David Robinson has moved up to the newly-created role of Argos chief operating officer. Reporting to Walden, he will be responsible for the delivery of commercial strategy as well as day-to-day operations. The retail operations, marketing, finance and human resources teams will also now report to Robinson.
Argos digital director Bertand Bodson has been promoted to the new role of chief digital officer for Home Retail Group. He will continue to lead Argos’ digital strategy, including digital development, trading and other functions, catalogue and new media, and the overall commercial and financial performance of the digital business.
In his new position as group chief executive, Walden will “continue to provide guidance to Argos, particularly on its strategic direction, transformation priorities and cultural development,” Home Retail said.
