Baby and infant area to feature diverse offering at next Spielwarenmesse

The product group’s broad portfolio embraces baby toys and baby textiles, travel systems, care and food as well as home and safety. 

The market for baby and infant articles has experienced continual growth in recent years. A study conducted by retail research institute IFH Köln in collaboration with retail consultancy BBE has found that this market currently has a volume of around 7.2b euros in Germany alone. The significance of this sector is reflected at the Spielwarenmesse which is regarded among international manufacturers as a central business hub for the baby and infant segment.

Opening its doors from 29th January to 2nd February, the Spielwarnmesse invites visitors to discover the huge spectrum of toys and related ranges for the youngest members of society. Retailers and buyers can also take a targeted look at the latest innovations and trends within the product group Baby & Infant Articles. The eponymous Special Area provides a thorough insight into the comprehensive selection of products available in this segment.

310 companies will be presenting their innovations in the product group Baby & Infant Articles which is accommodated in Hall two and part of Hall three. Among them are reputed, long-standing exhibitors such as Habermaass from Germany, Skip Hop from the USA and Nattou from France. First-time exhibitors include Cam Cam Copenhagen A/S from Denmark and Belgian manufacturer Tiny Magic. The product group’s broad portfolio embraces baby toys and baby textiles, travel systems, care and food as well as home and safety.

At last years fair, 109 international exhibitors showcased a total of 177 products in the Special Area. Ernst Kick, CEO of Spielwarenmesse eG, concludes: “The Special Area Baby and Infant Articles gives buyers and retailers new ideas for their product ranges. At the same time, the area is warmly welcomed by manufacturers as it gives them the chance to display their product highlights in a prominent second location.”
