Sue Gascoyne, creative director, Play to Z, commented: “We were thrilled to hear that Baby Curve had been shortlisted for this award given the calibre of other entries and the fact it is made by adults with learning difficulties. To discover that Baby Curve has won is an astonishing achievement. We can’t wait to share this fantastic news with the members at Essex Cares work based training unit, Saffron Carpentry, who make the Baby Curve. I’m sure they will be over the moon.”

Jon Bloomfield, training and employment locality co-ordinator, Saffron Carpentry said: “Saffron Carpentry is a work based training unit for customers with learning disabilities, who make a variety of products from toys all the way through to chopping boards. They are so proud that their handmade product is being showcased at such a professional level.”

Judges said about Baby Curve: “This is exactly the kind of toy we would like to have in our house. Simple, stylish, classic and educational. Babies will have endless hours of fun playing with it and parents will be proud to have it in their home. A fantastic toy and brand.”
