Vivid has announced it has received strong demand for products from the Baby Jake toy line.
Baby Jake, the high rating pre-school CBeebies show created by Darrall Macqueen, has transferred its on-screen success to British toy shelves. Master toy licensee Vivid reports strong demand for Baby Jake toys, games and jigsaw puzzles in the first six weeks of launch, with soft toy Talking Baby Jake being the lead item along with Baby Jake’s Bumpety Bump Tractor. Vivid is now redoubling its efforts to deliver enough stock in the market to ensure toys reach the hands of Baby Jake fans in time for Easter.
“We never expected the Baby Jake toy line to set off so quickly after the post-Christmas launch,” states Vivid UK Managing Director Neil Bandtock. “Toy retailers really need our pre-school licenses to “win big” this year to re-stimulate the category and so we’re delighted with this initial success for Baby Jake.”
Based on the strong early sales performance, Vivid is accelerating new product development on the Baby Jake toy line to ensure the product range is extended significantly for the Christmas season. TV advertised item Giggle and Wiggle Jake is expected to be one of the leading items in the pre-school category by year-end.
Vivid’s announcement follows news that licensor BBC Worldwide will launch the debut Baby Jake DVD and digital download this April.
