Bananagrams has launched the challenge to help boost vocabulary and spelling skills in classrooms across the country.banagrams300

With the new National Curriculum putting added emphasis on spelling this year, the Bananagrams Challenge materials and games have been designed specifically to incorporate the new Key Stage 2 spelling lists and to add value to classroom learning.

The free-to-enter Challenge, open to 500 schools, invites children in years three, four, five and six to play a series of Bananagrams games with classmates. Schools find their champion who then competes in a series of online word-based games for one of 12 places at the Grand Final in London, in March 2015.

All finalists receive a Bananagrams goodie bag and the child crowned Top Banana wins a trophy and £500 for their school.

Each school to register receives a free Bananagrams Challenge Welcome Pack worth over £40  including two Bananagrams games and a copy of the brand new Collins Little Book of Bananagrams.
