Basic Fun is collaborating with the UK’s leading dog welfare charity, Dogs Trust, in a deal that will see a donation for every Pound Puppy sold.
Established in 1891, Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity and cares for over 14,300 dogs each year through a network of 20 rehoming centres in the UK. Not backed by government funding, the charity relies on its supporters, benefactors and fundraising campaigns to enable its essential and often life-saving work.
Now, every purchase of a Classic Pound Puppy or Newborn Pound Puppy which bears the Dogs Trust logo on its pack will automatically result in a donation of 27p or 11p respectively.
Holly Lackey, Basic Fun’s head of UK marketing, commented: “A more fitting connection could not be found; we are delighted to be working with such a prestigious and hardworking team as Dogs Trust. They say every little helps, and if our cumulative donation results in just one dog’s life being saved and a new happy home being found, we will be delighted.”
Nick Daniel, director of fundraising at Dogs Trust said: “Now more than ever we will be relying on the generosity of the dog-loving public to help us through these uncertain times. Experience tells us that in the coming months, and years, more dogs than ever will face the risk of relinquishment. We estimate that up to 40,000 more dogs could be at risk of abandonment. We’re delighted to be partnering with Basic Fun; every Pound Puppy sold with our logo will raise vital funds, helping us change the tale for so many dogs at a time when they need us most.”
Basic Fun’s Dogs Trust Pound Puppies Collection will be available from this month.
