Marbel and Octopus Books have joined the licence portfolio of the rescue centre.

Animal charity Battersea Dogs & Cats Home has announced new licensees for its growing programme in the run up to Brand Licensing Europe. Marbel has taken the licence to produce a range of plush and wooden toys, whilst Octopus Books will be publishing the ‘Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Guide to choosing the best dog for you’ in 2013. These new partners will join existing licensees which include Ravensburger, Portico, Random House Children’s Books, The Bradford Exchange and Woodmansterne Publications.

The new licences are announced as the Home prepares for the Brand Licensing Europe show. The charity’s profile is at an all-time high following the transmission of the current primetime ITV1 series Paul O Grady: For the Love of Dogs. The Home will be showcasing its latest range of licensed products as well as unveiling its brand new packaging. The Home hopes to attract new licensees for stationery, apparel, home-wares gifts and pets.

Christoph Bettin, director of Marbel, said: “We are extremely excited to be developing a range of BDCH plush products to help raise the profile of a charity that has such a long history of outstanding commitment to improving the welfare of animals in need.”
