BBC signs 64 Zoo Lane

Leading European production and distribution company Millimages has signed a licensing and merchandising deal with BBC Worldwide for its hit pre-school show, 64 Zoo Lane.

The deal includes 104 episodes each 11 minutes long.

John Reynolds, group commercial director at Millimages says: “The stories in 64 Zoo Lane continue to resonate with pre-schoolers worldwide and we are delighted that kids will now be able to access licensed merchandise through our deal with BBC Worldwide.”

Jackie Ferguson, senior international licensing manager at BBC Worldwide adds: “We are delighted to be representing 64 Zoo Lane. This TV series has performed consistently over the years with a number of major European broadcasters and has entranced and delighted consumers and their parents alike. The broadcast and publishing heritage it has established gives us a very solid platform from which to develop an extensive licensing programme.”

The animated show plans to educate children in each episode with a new animal.  The main character Lucy lives next door to the zoo and her best friend Georgina the giraffe take her on adventures to meet the animals.
