Within Golden Bear’s range, the television-advertised Sweet Dreams With Squidge plays the channel’s Bedtime Hour tune. Also in the range are Chatty Bugbies – soft plush characters with colourful printed trims and CBeebies Toppling Bugbies – stacking blocks that picture the bugs. Pre-schoolers Isla and Sebastian got to know the bugbies at a photo shoot (pictured above).
Clare Piggott, head of merchandising, BBC Worldwide UK, said: “Our diverse catalogue features a series of universally popular brands this year. Biggest of all is CBeebies which makes its BLE debut and is the focus of this year’s BBC Worldwide stand. In addition we’re welcoming back Doctor Who, Top Gear, Sarah & Duck, Something Special, Sherlock and Only Fools and Horses.”
BBC Worldwide also announced Golden Bear as master toy partner for the upcoming new CBeebies show, Hey Duggee. Penguin Books has also confirmed a publishing programme for the upcoming series.
Clare Piggott added: “Our agreement with Golden Bear follows hugely successful launches of Something Special and CBeebies product. Hey Duggee offers a treasure trove of adventures and we are very excited to begin the creation of some fantastic new toys to help take young fans enjoyment of the show even further.”
