Best New Toys for 2017 revealed

A new STEM category has been added to reflect growing trends.

epoch480Lego, Spin Master and Playmobil were among the winners of Toy Fair’s Best New Toys, announced this morning at London Toy Fair. Selected by an independent panel of retailers, these are the toys they believe will be the hottest products in the forthcoming year.

41 exhibiting companies, spread over 15 different categories, have been commended for their work, and the list represents the diversity and continued success the UK toy market has enjoyed in recent times.

For 2017, the judging panel decided to re-order the categories and have added four brand new ones this year. STEM has been added to reflect hat is set to be a trend for 2017, while a collectibles category has been added to recognise the importance of the sector to the UK toy industry. Wooden toys and wheeled toys have also been added as categories.

Natasha Crookes, British Toy & Hobby Association, added: “Each year it gives us great pleasure to announce Toy Fair’s Best New Toys, celebrating the success and creativity of the UK toy industry. From major brands to start-up companies, the list represents a cross section of success stories that have kept the UK toy industry growing over the last few years”.

The Toy Fair Best New Toys award winners can be found outside the Press Office at Toy Fair.
