Retail Week reports that BHS has signed a deal with Claire’s Accessories to trial six concessions in stores.
The 400 sq. ft. concessions will launch by next month and be trailed for a five week period, with more planned. Darren Topp, BHS chief executive, has said it is likely there will be a dozen concessions before Christmas and expects the trial to expand to 50-100 BHS stores.
Claire’s is a leading specialty retailer of fashionable jewellery and accessories for young women, teens, tweens and kids. The partnership will complement BHS’s pre-teen Tammy clothing range, which is a key focus of the company’s new strategy.
Topp said BHS is in talks with other partners to introduce more concessions into BHS stores, as well as put BHS concessions in other retailer stores.
