Good Friday saw the opening of the company’s 500th store in Mansfield.
B&M has seen strong growth in recent years with 80 shops opening in 2015, and is anticipating opening approximately 50 stores this year. From just 21 stores in 2004, the company has come a long way in the last 12 years, now boasting four distribution centres across the UK.
Shoppers in Mansfield got a first glimpse of the landmark store on Good Friday, located at the site of the former B&Q on Baums Lane. To help mark the occasion, staff nominated the Sue Ryder Charity to cut the ribbon and officially open the store.
B&M’s operations director, Martin Roberts, commented: “We’re delighted to have opened our 500th store in Mansfield. Colleagues have worked extremely hard over the past few weeks to get the store ready for the opening ceremony. We’re all looking forward to a successful first day and to welcoming our new customers. As we continue to grow, everyone at B&M can be proud of this special day and what they have achieved in order to arrive at this landmark occasion.”
