Boj Giggly Park opens at West Midland Safari Park

The colourful animated world of popular CBeebies and S4C pre-school series, Boj, has been brought to life in the heart of England.

The newly opened Boj Giggly Park is a brand new interactive and multisensory playground set within West Midland Safari Park and exclusively themed with sights and sounds from the series.

Before the ribbon was officially cut by the show’s creator Claire Underwood and co-creators Dave Ingham and David Hodgson, some very important critics, a group of very excited children, were allowed special access to the £850,000 visitor attraction.

The youngsters, aged from one to six, inspected all five areas of Giggly Park, each themed around the five child characters in the show, and could also tunnel underground just like Boj in his burrow. At the heart of the new play area they gathered at Pops and Mimi’s Bandstand to meet the Boj costume character himself.

Daniel Griffiths, head of marketing at West Midland Safari Park, commented: “It was great to see so many happy, smiling faces as they explored and played in such a bright and vibrant environment. When I was introduced to the Boj creators I knew then that by working together we could produce something amazing for our younger visitors. To see the finished result of the process two years on is fantastic.”

A long-term licensing deal with the Safari Park has been agreed with Boj brand managers Pesky Productions, whose director, David Hodgson, commented: “We are delighted Boj has found a permanent home with our friends at West Midland Safari Park. It’s such a thrill to know hundreds of thousands of kids can now play with Boj and his buddies all year round. It’s the start of an exciting new phase that should see Boj’s popularity continue to grow and hopefully open up further licensing opportunities to sit alongside our lovely SEGA plush products now on sale in Boj Giggly Park.”
