Lewis Eeles, aged 10, recently found a limited edition Trash Pack figure and certificate when opening up a new Series 3 Trash Pack bin. After doing some research, the boy placed the Grimy Gold character on eBay and received bids immediately from America at $500. In the final seconds of the auction, £1,296 was bid for the 83p figure by an Australian collector. The transaction is now complete and Lewis is considering what he will do with his windfall.

Anne Marie Noon, marketing manager, GP Flair, said: “It’s remarkable how much this limited edition figure sold for, but it shows just how collectable The Trash Pack is. We have heard of high amounts that other limited editions have previously earned but never as high as this, so you have to admire Lewis’s entrepreneurism.

“The find is also perfectly timed for the brand as it also coincides with the delivery of our schools campaign. With 75,000 figures being distributed through primary schools next week, who know what rare figure will be found next.”
