Brainstorm announces new Aqua Dragons in Space kits

Published on: 1st August 2017

Eggs travelled to Earth’s stratosphere, making them world’s only pets to have journeyed to space.

The new Aqua Dragons from Brainstorm are back for 2017, and this time they have been to space. A first for the toy industry, children can now own Aqua Dragons that have actually travelled to the Earth’s stratosphere. Brainstorm is passionate about STEM products and this new Aqua Dragons set fits perfectly within its existing portfolio.

13.8 million Aqua Dragon eggs were sent into space from Spain on 17th April. The total Space flight lasted three hours and 32 minutes, with the eggs reaching a height of 109,560 feet and a temperature of -59 celsius. The special edition Aqua Dragons then landed safely back on planet Earth, ready to be shipped out to retailers.

The Aqua Dragons in Space kits each contain an authenticity certificate, stating that Aqua Dragons Live Astro Pets are the world’s only pets which have actually been into space. Children will be able to see their space flight data and 360º flight video, either via the free Aqua Dragons app, or directly online on YouTube.

Brainstorm has major marketing plans in place to support the launch including TV advertising as well as collaborations with other companies to give away space related prizes. The company also has media coverage lined up for Q4 to drive sales prior to Christmas.
