Toy Industry Awards 2021 move online this year

Published on: 10th January 2022

The prestigious Toy Industry Awards will be unveiled at midday on Tuesday 25th January – the first day of Toy Fair 2022.

The British Toy & Hobby Association (BTHA) and Toy Retailers Association (TRA) have announced that this year’s Toy Industry Awards winners will this year be revealed online on 25th January, the first day of Toy Fair’s highly anticipated return to Olympia.

This year’s announcement will be made via the trade press and BTHA/TRA membership news channels and will feature a unique video presentation of this year’s winners. The video will be available to watch online at any time once the winners announcement is made.

Included in the results will be the winners of this year’s Toy Retailer of the Year Awards, presented by the BTHA, and the Toy and Supplier Awards categories, presented by the Toy Retailer Association. (You can see the shortlist here).

In a joint statement, the BTHA and TRA said: “Whilst it had been hoped that a live event in person may have been able to take place during Toy Fair 2022, this unfortunately will not be possible in this unique year which continues to be affected by Covid. The decision was taken to help protect the health of all potential attendees to the event.  Both the BTHA and TRA wish to reaffirm that the value of the Toy Industry Awards remains the same, and to confirm to all entrants, finalists and winners that they are as valued as they always have been.”
