Britains, part of the Tomy group, has produced 1:32 scale models of Land Rovers for over 45 years and is to release its last-ever model, a reproduction of the run-out Heritage Edition.
Available from independent toy stores and limited to 5,000 models like it’s full-size counterpart, it takes styling cues from the original Series 1 but adds a modern twist.
The Heritage Edition includes a host of exterior elements all recorded on the model. First up is the Grasmere Green metallic paint job, which is complemented by an Alaska White roof — both unique to the Heritage Edition. The model is also equipped with a bespoke front grille, body-colored headlamp surrounds, and body-coloured steel wheels. Other subtle add-ons include vintage-style badges front and rear and Heritage logos on the mudflaps.
Drew Gibson, brand and communications manager, Britains, said: “France has the Citroen 2CV and the Renault R4 but these are comparatively short term models compared to the original Land Rover. The Land Rover is the most English of all cars and we are delighted to celebrate its finest and last hurrah.”
The last Land Rover model will be available in September.
