Going live at the weekend was a brand new 3D Character Building Sports Stars Football Stadium. Here, Weevils are able to create their own fantasy football team from the players in the collection, take part in a penalty shootout that mirrors one of the play sets, and be a lead player in the Sports Stars Team Photo Shoot.
So far 65,795 unique kids have entered the player hunt, whilst 27,425 have taken photos with the Sports Stars team to take back to their nest. Echoing the on-going Golden Boot Campaign where fans are searching the foil bags for Golden Boot Tickets, users are also able to search the site for Golden Boots. Finding them will earn them the mulch that is the lifeblood of the Bin Weevils economy.
Mark Hunt, brand manager, commented: “The Bin Weevils campaign runs for four weeks and dovetails perfectly with our print and TV schedule ensuring that from Mid-September onwards, Character Building Sports Stars will be the football figures to collect for all fans of the beautiful game.”
The Character Building Sports Stars collection includes construction play sets and micro figures depicting the top premiership clubs and many of the world’s top players. In addition to the Bin Weevils activity, supporting the launch is a full schedule of heavyweight TV, print advertising in all of the boys football press, competitions and the Golden Boot campaign.
