miPR hosted its annual Christmas Open House on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th July 2013. The event was held at a unique venue in central London with 18 brands showcasing their new Autumn/Winter 2013 products. Journalists attended on the Friday and were able to come with their families on Saturday when children were encouraged to test all the toys.
Annoying Orange, Cartamundi, Bin Weevils, Carte Blanche, Box of Awesome, Box of OMG, The Entertainer, SEGA, Floppets, Battersea Cats and Dogs Home, JCB Kids, Start Rite, Hy-Pro, Kurio, DRG, Nickelodeon, University Games and PlayAway all had products on display in their natural environment over the two-day event.
The Entertainer announced their top toys for Christmas at 11am on the first day of the event. National photographers came along to the unveiling and kids then had the opportunity the play with the selected toys.
The Zinc Chozen scooter from Hy-Pro launches this month, and the brightly coloured helmets featuring a Mohican were a hit with children and parents.
Carte Blanche and JCB Kids both decorated a kid’s bedroom and each room proved popular with the media.
Children (and parents) enjoyed eating lollies in the sunshine and Santa, Sonic the Hedgehog and Tatty Teddy all made appearances throughout the event.

We had some great media attend including the Daily Mail, Daily Express, ITV’s This Morning, Channel 4, Good Housekeeping and Money Off Mum as well as some of our favourite bloggers; Mummy’s Space, Tired Mummy of Two, Kidz Cool It, Mummy Bird and many more. Our event has evolved so much in just one year and we are excited to explore our ideas for 2014’s Open House.”
