Click Distribution has unveiled new plans to expand its business operations to include the design and manufacture of fashion accessories and jewellery.
“It is an incredibly exciting time for the business,” says Mark Hillier, chief executive officer at Click Distribution Ltd. “As a distributor of accessories for many years, we noticed that the departure of several companies in this space had created a gap in the market for a high quality manufacturer of jewellery and accessories. We strongly believe that we have the passion and contacts to harness this opportunity and make it a success.”
Established in 2009, Click has built a strong industry reputation in the UK as a distributor of toys and collectibles. It’s forged exclusive partnerships with several toy and collectible manufacturers. The firm also has extensive experience of distributing licensed accessories for properties including Frozen, Despicable Me and Shopkins.
Click is now marking its entry into design and manufacturing and to support this new expansion, it has appointed Yan Chan in the newly created role of general manager, far east manufacturing and sourcing. Based in Hong Kong, Chan will be responsible for overseeing all the firm’s manufacturing operations in China. In addition, Diane McSweeney has been appointed as head of product design and joins the firm from Icon Live, where she was responsible for designing all the firm’s licensed accessories and jewellery.
Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products is the first licensor to appoint Click to develop a line of accessories for its popular pre-school properties PAW Patrol and Shimmer and Shine in the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands which Click will also distribute to retail partners. Products will include hair accessories, jewellery, gift sets and key chains and will launch at UK retail from May 2017. Click is also in advanced talks with other licensors and further licensing agreements will soon be unveiled.
“The expansion will transform Click into a full service one stop shop that manages the product lifecycle from design and concept right through to manufacture and getting product on shelf,” Mark Hillier added. Signing Paw Patrol and Shimmer and Shine at such an early stage is a demonstration of confidence and we look forward to working with Nickelodeon on this exciting new venture.”
