The company provided an exclusive first-look at the new Sunbeam Alpine model, alongside a rare pre-production prototype.
Corgi has unveiled a new model of the Sunbeam Alpine Green XRW302, which will be available in 2017. The model will be limited edition, and presented in a Vanguards lid and tray pack style.
Visitors to the Classic Car Show were treated to the unveiling of the Sunbeam Alpine, revealed alongside the only surviving car from the eight pre-production prototypes.
The actual car is owned by John Willshire, who was in attendance at the reveal. In early 1959 when Rootes were developing the Alpine at Ryton, Coventry, they constructed only eight pre-production prototypes. Mr Willshire’s vehicle is the only survivor of those prototypes making it the oldest existing example.
Available in 2017, the model can be now be pre-ordered from www.corgi.co.uk.
