DC Thomson announces new senior management appointments

The company has announced two new senior management appointments with immediate effect for both Parragon Books and Wild and Wolf.

dcthomson480Katharine Leck joins Parragon as president of publishing. She will be responsible for leading the direction of Parragon’s fast paced publishing departments. Through bringing the children’s, licence and lifestyle departments together under Katharine, Parragon will continue to effectively develop new and exciting content.

She brings a tremendous amount of experience to Parragon, joining most recently as MD at Insights Guides-Berlitz publishing.

She commented: “Being able to work alongside the highly creative and talented publishing teams to maintain and develop Parragon’s ever-expanding publishing programme is very exciting. The next 24 months sees a number of new ventures across all areas of our publishing, particularly in Parragon’s own children’s imprints.”

Gavin Jones has been appointed as CFO, where he will be responsible for providing strategic and financial management, guidance and insight across Parragon and Wild and Wolf, ensuring strong financial governance and building a talented and capable finance team.

He joins both Parragon and Wild and Wolf after previously working as CFO of the Royal Canin UK and Ireland pet food division of Mars. The role starts with immediate effect and will enable Stewart Bailey, as COO, to fully focus on managing business operations across Parragon and Wild and Wolf.

Commenting on his new role, Gavin Jones said: “It is wonderfully exciting to be joining DC Thomson Consumer Products, working with their talented management team and having the opportunity to build upon and further successfully develop the strong Parragon and Wild and Wolf businesses, their offering and product propositions.”

Both Katherine and Gavin will report to Paul Taylor, CEO of Parragon and DC Thomson Consumer Products.
