Universal Pictures has announced that the new Despicable Me 2 trailer has had its worldwide digital debut as a global exclusive on iTunes, and Thinkway Toys has been awarded the Master Toy licence.
This marks the first time in Universal’s history that the studio has released a trailer worldwide on iTunes, with an international version available on the same day. The new trailer for the film is now available on iTunes Movie Trailers (trailers.apple.com), the iTunes Movie Trailers App (www.itunes.com/appstore), and iTunes (www.itunes.com) via worldwide podcast in 155 countries and seven languages.
The original film, Despicable Me, was a sleeper hit with very little licensing. However, it’s success at the box office and at home has seen massive interest from companies looking to produce licensed products. Thinkway Toys is one such company and has been awarded the Master Toy licence for Despicable Me 2.
