DKB Toys and Distribution has announced the appointment of ‘industry tour de force’ Edel Siddle as field account manager. In her new role, Edel will strengthen the company’s increased focus on supporting independent retailers.

With a wealth of experience in the toy industry, including 15 years at Bandai as sales admin & operations manager and more recently three years as sales & communications manager at Skyrocket, Edel is looking forward to attending this year’s Toymaster Show where the company will showcase its new ranges and partnerships for 2022.

“I am delighted to be joining the DKB team as a field account manager,” she commented. “With the exciting and extensive portfolio on offer, I am eager to get on board to learn and showcase the range. Having always had a passion for working with the indies, I cannot wait to start supporting retailers to continue DKB’s growth across the UK and Ireland”

Reflecting its continued strong relationship with Melissa & Doug, DKB will be highlighting a selection of the company’s top 60 lines at the Toymaster show. Visitors can also experience DKB’s Crazy Forts range, which continues to outperform all expectations at retail, as well as the Alex Brands range. The company has promised to offer attractive buying deals to new customers at the event.

The hotly anticipated Crazy Aarons Putty range will take centre stage at the Toymaster event. DKB says that interest in this range is already significant, so retailers are urged to pay the stand a visit if they want to get involved.

“What better way to start than with a trip to Harrogate for the Toymaster Show?” added Edel. “The event provides us with the perfect platform to introduce new lines across our Alex Brands range and also the opportunity to re-launch the incredible Crazy Aarons products to UK retail.”

In addition to adding new ranges to its portfolio, DKB Toys has also been building a brand new website, which is due to go live at the end of May. The website will be transactional, allowing retailers to place orders for immediate delivery, which in some cases will be within 24 hours.

MD Chris Lohmeyer told Toy World: “We’ve got the company up and running, we have developed good business with a number of majors – including Smyths, The Range and The Works – as well as the independent trade. We have gone from just me to a team of six people, and now we’re delighted to be introducing some exciting new brands to our portfolio.”
