Events and new licensed products are scheduled to debut in 2016 for Road Dahl’s centenary year.
A new licensing direction will focus on three key stories, Matilda, The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Spring will see UK Greetings launch a series of aged greetings cards, whilst Aykroyd TDP has been awarded the licence for children’s nightwear and underwear. As well as a range of both boys’ and girls’ designs, a range based on The BFG will accompany the release of the film next summer.
Steiff will launch a collector’s edition plush bear based on Willy Wonka and, for high street distribution, Rainbow Designs will release a children’s plush series, including a The BFG, Matilda and Willy Wonka.

There is still a multitude of new signings to be announced as well as fantastic product launches on the horizon to support this fantastic brand through its centenary year of events and celebrations.”
The events include the release of the Dreamworks and Disney collaboration summer family blockbuster movie The BFG, as well as a new BBC TV animation based on Roald Dahl’s book of verse, Revolting Rhymes, due to be aired during the Christmas period in 2016.
