Egmont has brought forward the publication of two new Angry Birds Joke Books, Angry Birds Space Joke Book and Angry Birds Seasons Joke Book, which are now due to hit shelves this Autumn, to keep up with demand.AngryBirds_JB_CVR300

Gillian Laskier, group sales director, Egmont UK, said: “Angry Birds has already proved to be a publishing phenomenon. We have been reprinting the Angry Birds Joke Book since it launched late last year at such a pace that, in order to keep up with demand, we have pulled forward the publishing of joke books two and three. Our customers are selling the joke books through at a great pace, and three titles will give them even more “SHOUT” on the shelves.”

In addition to the three joke books, Egmont has just launched its first activity title where Angry Birds feature in a detailed search and find book. Packed with artwork of the birds and pigs and with endless things to find, this Angry Birds Search and Find book is suitable for children aged five years plus.

Egmont will also publish a novelty title in time for Christmas, Angry Birds: The Great Egg Hunt Press Out and Play. In this title, the birds have discovered a map showing them the location of their stolen eggs. Children will have to help them follow the map, solve the clues and build and destroy their way through this book to find the eggs. Pages of press-out pieces and instructions to create constructions complete this new title.

Laskier continued: “We are excited to have brought to market our first Angry Birds activity title: Angry Birds Search and Find and our higher priced novelty format: Angry Birds Press out and Play will make a great gift for the Angry Birds fans later this year, but retailers will need to secure their copies – we won’t be able to reprint this title as quickly as the joke books.”
