Now in its 9th year, there are 20 different categories manufacturers can enter, in the only awards where Dads test out toys with their kids.

The categories at this year’s Dads Choice Awards.

This year, the Dads Choice Awards 2021 is set to be bigger and better than ever. The organisers have spent the last few months recruiting even more super testers, who they say are raring to go, to put the latest toys, puzzles, games and apps through their paces.

Entries are now open and the closing date is Friday 24th September. The winners will be announced on 15th November.

The awards are dedicated to Dads and their children, and the Dad’s Choice super testers are on a mission to find out what makes a fantastic toy. They spend weeks putting the entries through their paces, and only those that meet the critical standards of the Dad testers and their children will win a coveted award. Every entry will be matched to a Dad’s Choice tester with children of the right age and evaluated on its creativity, fun factor, value for money and whether it lives up to the hype on the box.

David Ross, founder of Dads Choice Awards commented: “Last year we were blown away by the incredible standard of entries. Our Dads Choice super testers couldn’t wait to get started. In an age where children spend hours online consuming content, we want to prove that it’s a range of toys, apps and vehicles that make our kids happy. We know there are some fantastic choices this year and cannot wait to see the entries for 2021. Over the last nine years we’ve grown and top brands have supported our mission – Dads love playing with their kids.”

Winning products will be promoted via a PR campaign which is included in the admin fee of the entry. Last year’s winners featured across toy trade press and national newspapers.

The Dads Choice Awards 2021 are open to any toy, game, puzzle, App or electronic device which meets the category criteria. Toys must be available to purchase in the UK and available for sale before December 31st 2021, and suitable for children aged 0 to 16 years. In each category there are three potential awards: Winner, Highly Commended and Commended. Winners will be able to include the logos in their marketing, box packaging and other promotional activities free of charge.

There are 20 categories to choose from and manufacturers can enter as many products as they like, providing they meet the criteria. A small fee is charged for each entry to cover administration costs. The categories are detailed on the website.
