Rendered Games12The app, which has over 85 million players, is now a physical board game.

The adaptation of Ndemic Creations’ successful app is available  now. In the game, players assume the roles of deadly diseases, fighting to infect the world and be the first to wipe out humanity.

Plague Inc: The Board Game was initially launched as a Kickstarter project by British designer James Vaughan. The game received over $400,000 in funding from 7,000 backers (1,000% of its initial funding goal). James Vaughan has since chosen to partner with Esdevium to launch the highly anticipated game in the UK.

“I’m immensely proud of the contagious gameplay in Plague Inc: The Board Game and it’s great to see both critics and players giving it rave reviews. With their existing range of great titles and experience in bringing new games to retail, Esdevium is the perfect ‘Patient Zero’ to take the game to the next level,” James Vaughan said.

“Plague Inc. is a huge name in the world of mobile games and has established a massive global following,” said Steve Buckmaster, Esdevium’s managing director. “James has created an amazing board game that captures the spirit of the original game but above all else is fantastic fun to play and we are delighted to be able to offer it to the UK toy and games market.”
