Esdevium hails successful UK Games Expo

The company received 11 awards for the games it supplies to the UK market.

Esdevium-480Esdevium Games has hailed the success of last weekend’s biggest-ever UK Games Expo at Birmingham’s NEC. The show attracted over 25,000 attendees over three days. Esdevium managed a huge 800 square foot area, running games demonstrations on popular titles including Dobble, Ticket to Ride and Colt Express.

The company also helped facilitate a wide range of national tournaments for its games, including the world’s largest-ever tournament for the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game.

The full list of awards that the company picked up is as follows: Best Board Game (Isle of Skye – Mayfair Games), Best Board Game with Miniatures (Star Wars Rebellion – Fantasy Flight Games), Best Role-Play Game (Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition – Chaosium), Best Miniatures Game (Frostgrave – Osprey Publishing), Best Strategic Card and Dice Game (Odin’s Ravens – Osprey Publishing) Best General Card Game (Games of Trains – Brain Games), Best General Game (Time Stories – Asmodee/Space Cowboys), Best Children’s Game (Icecool – Brain Games), Best Party Game (Codenames), Best Abstract Game (Onitama – Arcane Wonders) and Best Game Expansion (Colt Express – Horses and Stagecoach).

Esdevium’s managing director, Steve Buckmaster, commented: “We’ve had an incredible show and we feel very privileged not only to be bringing these great award-winning games to the UK, but also from the reaction of the attendees to our games and the show in general. The Expo has really moved up a level this year, moving into the NEC, and credit must go to the organisers for making it bigger and better than ever before.”
