Fairy Dust changes ownership

Published on: 9th July 2012

In May this year the specialist fairy glitter manufacturer Fairy Dust was bought out by Fairyglass to become part of their established fancy-dress and festival-wear brand Fairygoodies.

The product has had a complete image overhaul, and can now be found with new labels and packaging. In addition, slower selling and less popular colours have been replaced with new, vibrant and popular choices including, Gold, Silver and Electric Purple.

Manufacturing of the product will return to the UK from China, where it has been produced since 2006. This is great news for the economy as well for sustainability as it vastly reducing the company’s carbon footprint. All the available Fairy Dust colours are now approved for cosmetic use worldwide, unlike some other imported versions from China.

Ben Biscoe, director of Fairyglass, said: “I’m really excited to add the Fairy Dust brand to our portfolio of fairy products. We know from our retail side that it’s a proven seller, and it’s great to bring a range back from China to manufacture here in the UK. The new colours are already proving popular with our retailers and we’ve plans to expand the range significantly over the next 12 months.”
