First Direct Sourcing Toys & Games event announced for Amsterdam

Published on: 16th December 2022

ETAI says Direct Sourcing Toys & Games 2023 will follow the showroom format of its other event, Preshow Noël, and will attract over 50 suppliers.

ETAI, the organiser of the Deauville Preshow Noël show, has announced the first edition of Direct Sourcing Toys & Games 2023 at the Hilton Amsterdam, Schiphol, from 10th-12th October, 2023.

The in-person event will cover direct sourcing for private label and FOB across toys and games. By using the effective showroom format of the Deauville Preshow, ETAI says it is responding to the market’s need for a targeted and effective international event for non-domestic and non-marketed toys in Europe.

Direct sourcing toys and games represent between 25% and 40% of the global toys & games market, depending of the country, and FOB and private label play an increasing part in toys and games retailers’ business and represent a key asset in the future.

ETAI says working methods have changed over the last few years, with many buyers suffering budget limitations including long and costly travels during their selection process.

Direct Sourcing’s solution is to transform how European retailers can discover and experience suppliers’ collections with an event on their doorstep during the key October buying window.

Pre-arranged business meetings will be held in comfortable private showrooms within the Hilton Schiphol, which is in an easily accessible location, in the heart of the European market, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the participating companies.

“By organising Direct Sourcing, we are responding to the growing challenge of efficiency faced by suppliers and buyers to work on FOB and private label collections, at the right time, in the right place, with the smallest possible time and carbon footprint,” said Jean Luc Garnier, director of Trade Shows. “Existing opportunities are either too late in the process, or have become too uncertain. Our ambition is to be a simple and efficient tool for FOB and private label in the toys and games industry.”

During the show, more than 50 international suppliers, manufacturers and subcontractors will meet with around 150 plus European FOB/private label buyers from key retail chains.
