Former Shop Direct buyer seeks new opportunity

Published on: 1st March 2019

Neil Mitchell spent a decade with Shop Direct as a toy buyer, working alongside Andrea Gornall.

In his 10 years as a toy buyer at Shop Direct, it is widely acknowledged that Neil played a large part in the success of the online retailer’s toys category. Having been made redundant as part of the major restructuring the company is going through, Neil is now looking forward to landing a new role.

Neil told Toy World: “I’m free to start a new role from 1st March. I’m considering remaining in buying but I’m also open to sales or product roles with toy suppliers. I’ve got over 15 years experience in the toy industry, so I’m keen to remain in toys, using my knowledge and skills in a new role.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Neil has an outstanding background of retail buying within the dynamic world of digital.

“I have consistently delivered sales and margin growth whilst working with key brands and developing customer focused product ranges,” Neil adds.
