Playmobil welcomes the experienced Gary Wilmot as its new field sales manager with a focus on the Toy Specialist channel.
Gary brings with him a wealth of knowledge and industry experience having held a number of senior roles including Tonies, Character Options, and Schleich.
Alf Bohm, head of Sales at Playmobil UK, said: “We are really excited to welcome Gary to the Playmobil team; he has a huge amount of experience in the industry and a fantastic understanding of the toy specialists business.”
He added: “Gary is looking forward to meeting his new customers in the upcoming weeks and will bring a huge amount of experience within the industry. I have no doubt he will make a huge impact on the Christmas plans for Playmobil, and work through all the exciting things to come in 2023.”
It has been a busy few months for Playmobil. In August, the company launched its first sustainable product range, Wiltopia, a range made from recycled and bio-based plastic, with the initial wave featuring 12 baby animals and 15 medium-sized and large adult animals.
It is the first range from Playmobil to be made from an average of over 80% sustainable material. PCR plastic, plastic that has already been used by consumers and then fed back into the recycling loop, as well as bio-based plastics are used. The new material makes the play sets shine in a refreshingly new pastel look.
This month Playmobil is also extending its range of Fi?ures with new My Fi?ures play sets, which each come with a classic play scene and six disassembled figures to allow children to create and customise their own characters.
The company has also recently added a Klingon Bird-of-Prey to its Star Trek range and announced a new range of Naruto Shippunden figures for 2023, based on the popular anime series.
