KidsCon22 took over Leicester Square’s Big Screen at Vue cinema on Thursday 26th May.
The Generation Media conference, titled Tomorrows World, Today, delivered education, entertainment and inspiration for marketing professionals from across a host of industries, all of which are looking to communicate effectively with children.
Generation Media CEO Dean Weller kicked off the day alongside director Lauren Coombs, who took attendees on a journey back to pre-Covid times. This was followed by a range of bitesize presentations and an industry leading panel discussion. The focus of the event was on showcasing the latest kids’ media consumption from several different standpoints, but with one very strong message: Tomorrow’s World is Today.
Speakers included an array of experts from Generation Media’s Senior Management & Leadership team, as well as guest speaker Massai Lawrence, who spoke about being a gamer and NFT trader. The morning was wrapped up by an all-star line-up of panellists including Dylan Collins, Rene Rechtman, Bobi Carley and Ruth Cartwright, who discussed topics ranging from how much the children’s media space has changed to the importance of children’s online safety.
To cater for those who could not attend the in-person event, and to facilitate Generation Media’s growing international client base, the event was simultaneously streamed in the Metaverse. Online attendees were able to sit at virtual meeting tables whilst watching the live stream of each presentation.
Generation Media would like to extend a big thank you to all the attendees who took the time out of their day, contributors, partners and supporters of the event. Over £3,000 was raised in admission sales, which Generation Media then matched to bring the total amount donated to the BTHA’s Toy Trust charity to £6,000.
