Golden Bear renews Twirlywoos master toy agreement

Published on: 19th September 2018

Golden Bear will continue to serve as the global master toy partner for the much-loved pre-school brand.

The agreement has been renewed through to 2020. Originally commissioned by CBeebies, the BBC’s pre-school channel, Twirlywoos is enjoyed by kids on more than 40 linear and streaming platforms around the world.

Barry Hughes, managing director, Golden Bear Toys, commented: “We are delighted to renew our partnership on Twirlywoos. Great Big Hoo, Toodloo, Chickedy, Chick and Peekaboo have become core favourite characters for pre-school children in the UK and beyond, and we are thrilled to continue delivering Twirlywoos toys to them for many years to come.”

Since originally being appointed master toy partner for Twirlywoos in 2014, Golden Bear has launched an innovative and imaginative range of successful toys for the brand. In 2015, the Big Red Boat Playset delighted pre-schoolers with figurines, sounds, songs, flashing lights and activities, and was also featured in the brand’s first TV marketing campaign.

In 2016, Golden Bear launched the award-winning Run-along Twirlywoos line, which won Gold in both the Loved by Parents Awards and the Practical Pre-School Awards, and was rated Highly Commended in the Right Start Best Toy Awards. In 2018, Golden Bear introduced the Chatty Twirlywoos, an assortment of soft toys with sparkly fabric head tufts, big feet and exaggerated features. With a press of their tummy, the Chatty Twirlywoos offer up funny sounds and phrases for kids to enjoy.

The Twirlywoos are four small, bird-like characters who are inquisitive, enthusiastic and always looking to learn something new about the world. The Twirlywoos show has been developed with a commitment to watching how children interact and develop, and each episode creates spaces for pre-schoolers to make their own connections, which aids their learning.
