The Golden Teddy Awards recognised dedicated service to the industry for the two highly respected PR professionals.

The BTHA is pleased to announce that two Golden Teddy Awards have been presented to two exceptional individuals, both of whom have contributed considerably to the industry over many years.

Golden Teddy Awards were presented to Michele Norton (Norton PR) and Julie Pittilla (Pittilla PR) at a special reception during London Toy Fair.

As part of the award presentations, reasons cited included dedicated service to the industry through the duo’s PR work for clients, alongside their trustworthiness as highly respected professionals within their fields.

Golden Teddy Awards are given to people who have served the toy industry for more than 15 years, who have gone over and above expectations and who possess an extraordinary degree of ‘niceness, honesty and integrity’ – considered the industry’s genuinely good people. The awards have been designed to give individual contribution and dedication over the years the public recognition it deserves.

Graham Canning, chairman of the British Toy & Hobby Association, said: “On behalf of all at the British Toy & Hobby Association, my congratulations go to both Michele and Julie for their loyal and substantial individual contributions to the industry over many years. They represent all that is good about this fantastic industry – dedication, integrity and going over and above expectations.”

Speaking after accepting her award, a clearly overjoyed Julie praised the work of all PR people working in the industry: “PR as a profession has never been recognised like this before. The success of so many toys hinges on good PR and I’m delighted that in presenting Michele and I with these Golden Teddies, the work we and countless others do is finally getting its moment in the spotlight.”
